Spotted Online – The Forsaken Dynasty from Astonishing Toys
Special thanks to TAO for posting about Astonishing Toys at Chicago Comic Con. I followed the link to the company site and got a good look at their The Forsaken Dynasty series which makes me think of the mid-1980s when several companies produced “for use with” Masters of the Universe action figures.
This particular run interests me because it takes an idea and runs with it in resin, and this may be the very first time that I’ve seen this style of toy produced in resin. $35/figure is expensive, yes, but it’s not out of line for resin toys (especially resin toys with this much articulation and this level of paint detail).
Hey, according to their contact info the Astonishing Toys office is located in Houston. One of these days I’m going to have to schedule several meetings and run over to Houston for a day to chat with several people about toys and games.
Which of the “for use with” lines was your favorite? I was kinda partial to Remco’s Warlord line.

I’d love to get my hands on some of those Warrior Beasts toys.
Oh man… people are gonna go nuts over that Lord Mask substitute…. AWESOME!!!! Those guys make me all kinds of happy!
Those Warrior Beasts are pretty cool! Slap an animal head on a body and call it good.
Willow, look through the chronicles
for some reference to a warrior beast…
I’ve wanted that Skullman figure for ages. 🙂
Just to be clear on these, the final products won’t be resin, but just your standard plastic. This initial Comic-Con exclusive run was all they intended to do in resin. Unless I misunderstood them somewhere along the way.
