Spotted Online – Transformers Generations Straxus at CollectionDX
I know his official name is Darkmount, but since I bought the Marvel comic with the first appearance of Straxus off of a newstand when it was first released — yes, an actual beaten copy from a real stand and not from a comic store — I’m gonna keep calling this guy Straxus. And while I still haven’t opened my own Straxus, I have been watching the reviews pop up online . . . and here’s a new review at CollectionDX.
It makes me a little sad that the reviewer isn’t familiar with Straxus, but overall the review does an excellent job of showing us the toy and making me think it’s time that I rip Straxus from his package and put him through his paces.
I did find one comment a bit odd:
Some will agree or disagree that he borders on the “Bayverse” movie look.
For me, a Transformers character’s face — more than any body design — is what makes it movie-like or not movie-like. And with Straxus looking like his comic version I can see right past the body design’s next-to-movie-like similarities. But looking at it with that idea in mind I can admit that the lower legs do kinda make me think of the movie-like character designs.
But the head is excellent and snaps this from the movie-like family.
But forget my rambling and head on over and check out the review. Then get out to a store and find your own Transformers Generations Straxus.
