Spotted Online – Two Masters of the Universe Classics Snout Spout Reviews

Fans of the Masters of the Universe Classics series know that they basically have three choices when it comes to collecting the line.

  1. Subscribe to the line. But if you haven’t subscribed by now then this option is no longer open to you.
  2. Buy at Matty Collector on the day of launch. This isn’t as bad as it once was.
  3. Buy from a reseller after the toy has sold out. (Amazon.com search*.) This isn’t terrible, but it is definitely the most expensive option of the three.

Well, what that means is that usually by the time a review for an action figure in the series goes online we’re stuck with that third option if we don’t already own the figure. And that means that the recently released Snout Spout, which I was kinda lukewarm on when he launched, is frustrating me since I now see him in two reviews.

First up is this review at It’s All True. The photos make the toy look far neater than I first thought and I’ve gotta say that the colors are growing on me now that I see the toy in action. What offsets the photos, though, is the discussion of the toy’s less-than-stellar paint apps. And that complaint with paint continues in . . .

. . . Poe Ghostal’s Snout Spout review. It sounds like this figure really suffered from poor paint and that the quality control manager was home sick the day these left the factory. Whew. I guess I can totally ignore this guy; he may look neat in photos but two reviews in one day that both have complaints kinda kills whatever interest was growing in me as I looked at the pics.

Now if I could only stop looking at photos of Man-At-Arms . . .

  1. @Poe – And a quick search on eBay reveals lots of Man-At-Arms figures for sale that say the figures are being shipped from Mattel and won’t ship for one to two weeks. I guess the scalpers raided Matty Collector pretty hard on Monday.
