Spotted Online – Universal Studios Classic Monsters Frankenstein Review
Back at SDCC I got a look at this toy (mentioned here) and now it looks as if the Universal Studios Classic Monsters line has started hitting stores. For a close look at the toy, and a lot of pics, see this review at Action Figure Pics. And then add Frankenstein to your wish list and hope that Santa brings one to you.
I never owned MEGOs when I was a kid, so I’m not all that familiar with them. As an adult, I’ve seen them being used in Robot Chicken and Toyfare, even in the movie “The 40-Year Old Virginâ€, and I know that they are classic toys, but I never purchased any of them.
This almost covers my own experience with this kinda toy; the only difference is I had Action Jackson and spent some time with a friend playing with the larger figures instead of Star Wars figures. And I have to admit that I think a lot of the reason I’ve been avoiding this style of toy is because I don’t need to find myself trapped in collecting another style of action figure.
But they do look kinda fun.
He says he’s never seen the original Universal Frankenstein. WTF?!
I’m still on the lookout for these two, but I’ve got plenty of other Mego goodness headed my way.
@Newt – Have you got any of the Universal Monsters figures from this series? I noticed you’ve been grabbing some of the various retro DC figures but if you reviewed one of these I missed it.
