Spotted Online – ZyBots Promotional Flyer
Over at GanguStars you can see this 1984 flyer from Remco featuring several great toylines . . . well, great may be too strong a word for these toys. Still, any single promotional flyer that shares Mantech, ZyBots, Warlord, and more in one place has to be a fantastic piece of toy history.
If you haven’t been checking out the GanguStars blog then I suggest starting with the “cheap toy month” tag and then following links as you wish. The number of old sales flyers and promotional materials at the site is incredible. I will have to beg for clean, hi-res scans of some of these once I get around to creating my book about transforming robot toys of the eighties.
Visit GanguStars now and prepare to have fun with toy history.

And thanks to Mr Reed, I will now be looking for ZYbots on Ebay as I had the semi truck when I was kid….
How about a random robot checklist book 🙂
@Marvin Malkowski Jr. – I’m thinking less a checklist or encyclopedia and more an overview/snapshot of the transforming robot toys of the eighties.
I’ll keep tracking down info as my new Empire of Shadows and Universe Expanded books come together. Those have to be finished before I start any other big projects.
Maybe I am selfish but as you find the data for these hidden gems that no has thoughts about for years I would love to build checklist for collectors to help know what to look for in some of these lines. Let me know if that is something you would consider collaborating on if nothing else.
@Marvin Malkowski Jr. – An online checklist for the different lines would be neat. Something like It’s All True posts for some newer lines.
