Square Enix Promised to Fix Batman
I was loving the Play Arts Kai series right up to the point that my Armored Batman busted a shoulder after opening the box (pics here) at which point I contacted Square Enix . . . and they did nothing. Not a single response through any channel. That’s very frustrating and terrible customer service.
Well, while at NYCC last weekend I talked with someone at the Square Enix booth who took my card and promised to deal with this problem. She apologized for the lack of communication, but she never gave me her name or contact information so now I wait to see what happens. She took my business card, I showed her the blog post with photos, and that was basically the end of the conversation.
But I hope the company comes through. Broken products happen, it’s just part of the manufacturing process. But failing to respond to customer e-mails, tweets, and messages through forums and other social media outlets is simply unacceptable. Obviously, no one at Square Enix has ever read Michael Hyatt’s Platform* (which I am currently reading and enjoying).
Huh, I had the same exact break on my Play arts Ninja (from Metal Gear Solid). I suspect that their designers didn’t think out that part so well. Which is a shame, since my guy is pretty great in almost every other way (except being unbalanced, he needs some weight in his legs).
@Chris – There does seem to be a lot of weight and pressure on that one joint. I am hoping they improve, but right now I am mostly hoping they come through as promised.
Man. All I can say is that when my Halo Master Chief figure’s foot was missing a part, I emailed the site and, after a few weeks, Square Enix just mailed me a replacement leg. All they asked for was a few pics of the leg to show the missing piece.
Sorry your experience isn’t going more smoothly.
