Star Wars at Walmart

Lots and lots of Star Wars merchandise at Walmart these days, and I’ve now traveled around the US enough to state with certainty that the Star Wars Black series (Amazon.com search*) has a new peg warmer: Finn! Sorry, Finn, but I’ve seen way too many of you at too many stores to not name you the new Greedo.

In addition to the 6-inch figures there were also several 3.75-inch scale action figures, vehicles, shirts, Halloween decorations, and even some of the Star Wars Box Busters toys/games (Amazon.com search*). I actually picked up two of the Star Wars Box Busters sets over the weekend and can report that this looks to be a fun little game for kids. Definitely a great Christmas buy if you’ve got some five to seven year-olds to shop for this year.

  1. I was wondering when you’d get around to posting about The Force Awakens toys! I’ve seen a lot of Finn too, but frankly it’s stiil too early to tell what his role is. Bad guys who look like Vader and new troopers will always sell like hotcakes based on the look alone. But if you just saw Han Solo (and Ford was not yet famous) and you had no context for who he was–you’d likely pass on him to pick up a stormtrooper.

    1. I’m with you Jay. I think his sales will go up quite a bit once we’ve seen him in action. Right now though, he just looks like a college kid wearing the jacket his dad wore round Europe or something. I’m sure he’ll be cool in the movie though!
