Star Wars Bounty Hunter Porcelain Busts from 1998
From the summer 1998 issue of Star Wars Insider magazine (Amazon.com search*) comes this full-page ad for Boba Fett and Greedo orcelain busts. Now keep in mind that this was before companies like Sideshow Collectibles started creating dozens of amazing Star Wars statues and collectibles, so stuff like this was quite a bit more uncommon then than it is today.

I love old ceramic items because I have to think that half of them will be broken over time and these may some day become a rarity. A favorite item in my collection is a 1966 Batman bank — these aren’t too uncommon, but ceramic items have a certain charm to them in their lack of detail and (usually) glossy paint.
I remember there being a huge amount of merch suddenly popping up around 1997, when the Special Edition films started getting released. Some company did a line of toby jug-esque porcelain mugs, and I ended up with the Han Solo one. Despite being about 12 I managed to not break it; these days it’s a pen holder on a friend’s desk.
These busts look great; I would have loved to have owned one back then (still would now, really!)
I miss when there was Star Wars Galaxy magazine and I”d spend house pouring over ads just like this. Star Wars merchandise being readily available to me was an incredibly new phenomena.
