Star Wars Catholic School in 1980
Trust me, you cannot imagine things as wacky as this. The August 20, 1980, issue of the Lawrence Journal-World newspaper carries a brief story about how St. John’s School has named the various school rooms after sci-fi films, including Star Wars and Empire. The article states:
“Upon entering, first-graders were told they were droids or Jedi warriors.
Second-graders were christened Luke Skywalker’s rebels and snowspeeders.
And third-graders were dubbed tauntauns (snow lizards) and X-Wing Pilots.”
Greatest. School. Ever.
