Star Wars H-Wing Fighter
When West End Games published their Star Wars Roleplaying Game (Amazon.com search*) in 1987 there was no way I could avoid embracing the game. My friends and I wasted many, many hours playing the game during high school and one of my favorite things was the surprising find of the H-Wing fighter. This unofficial starship, published in the pages of Challenge magazine, made it into our games and it is unfortunate that I no longer own the issue where this ship appeared.
The Star Wars Wikia seems to have the text of the article. So I guess everyone can check this out even without the magazine at hand.

Too bad this didn’t get represented in The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. It’s a cool looking vehicle. Would have made a great toy too.
@The Rook – I do wonder what legal rights Lucasfilm can claim, if any, to the creations hiding inside those old issues of Challenge. There were some fun ideas.
The H-Wing may have been the best contribution, though, because it really looks like it belongs in Star Wars.
