Star Wars “Losing Out” in 1984
Can you believe that there was a time when Star Wars wasn’t seen as a strong brand? Well, this 1984 Victoria Advocate newspaper issue features a short article on Star Wars and television, and everything about the article downplays the strength of Star Wars.
The article says: “This is not the kind of movie that people will watch endlessly.”
I guess Disney disagrees . . .

I remember when Star Wars figs were also-rans on the toy aisles, back in the late 1980s. Nobody wanted them and why would they, with the last movie being 6-7 years in the past, and nothing new on the horizon. It was amazing it held on as long as it did.
Of course, all of those figs are incredibly rare and valuable now. Supply and demand!
