Starcom Action Figures and Land Vehicles at KayBee Toys in 1987
Yesterday’s ad block for the Autobot Targetmasters also gives us another look at Coleco’s Starcom toys, showing just how much toysellers across the country attempted to sell the toys to kids. Starcom never really took off at retail — and I barely even remember the animated series — but my limited experience with the toys tells me that the failure of the line was not at all related to the quality of the toys. These are awesome designs . . . it’s just that they didn’t catch on with kids. Why? If I could answer that question, I’d be rich.
