December 18, 1984. I think that we have uncovered enough newspaper ads for Tomy’s Starriors toys that we can safely say: It wasn’t a lack of promotion that led the Starriors to fail at retail. In my opinion, these robot action figures failed because they couldn’t compete with the transforming robot toys of the time, not because the Starriors were bad toys.
