Strawberry Shortcake Overview at The Toy Box

I’d always known that Kenner’s Strawberry Shortcake toys of the eighties had a lot of options, but I’d not quite realized just how deep the line was until recently. The dinosaur Fig Boot, for example, is something I didn’t even know existed until reading the Toy Box overview of Strawberry Shortcake toys. What’s even more stunning is that I’m now finding even more accessories for the Berry Happy Home. We need a checklist!

The research I put into Each Sold Separately (Kickstarter page) is what again got me looking at the Kenner Strawberry Shortcake lines, and I’ve got to agree with the Toy Box assessment that this really was an action figure line for girls. Barbie may always have had lots of accessories, but with Strawberry Shortcake Kenner nailed that “toyetic” quality that Bernie Loomis first mentioned in the seventies (see Wikipedia).
