Superman, Metropolis, and The Rotarian in 1973
There are odd things hiding in Google’s various archives. For example, the October, 1973 issue of The Rotarian offers up this story of Metropolis, Illinois, and DC coming together to give Superman a home. It’s a quick and simple fluff piece, but that photo of the Superman sign was too fun to not share it with you. And look: Carmine Infantino gets a nod as the man at DC who approved the concept. It’s amazing to look back at careers of creatives and see what things they touched over the years.
