Take a Look at this 1978 Boba Fett Halloween Costume!

Long, long ago, in a decade known as the seventies, I remember watching the Star Wars Holiday Special (where Boba Fett appeared in an animated short) on TV. This was before the VCR was a common appliance, so if you missed any of this spectacular event then you were screwed. And I missed the beginning, so I was just a tad screwed. (But when you’re six then you do what the parents say.)

So we know that Boba Fett existed in 1978, but I sure as hell hadn’t realized that there was a Halloween costume for him that year. This Woolworth/Wilco commercial from 1978 clearly shows a (weird) Boba Fett costume, though, so Star Wars must have been bigger back then than I realized. I wonder how many kids chose that costume over the more recognizable characters? Damn, Boba, you were a star before you even appeared on the big screen.
