The Glyos Rig

Yesterday I posted an illustration I created of the Glyos Zoneye custom that was created by Matt Doughty (Onell Design). The entire illustration was created digitally, and on the flight I decided to create a similar piece of artwork for the upcoming Glyos Rig. And to make it fun I decided to post the following images that demonstrate how the art was created.

1. I grabbed a photo of the Rig that was posted at the Onell site. It’s a pretty small file, but that doesn’t matter since all I needed was the basic shapes.

2. Creating a blank layer over the art, I grabbed the brush and created the basic framework. This was done by clicking and using the Shift key to keep the lines straight. Point-to-point digital tracing.

3. With that finished, I then went back and used the same clicking/Shift sequence to add colors to the image. I have no idea what color the Rig is being released in so I just did what I wanted to. How can there not be a blue-colored Rig at some point in the future?

So there it is. A fast-and-dirty illo of the Rig using just a few simple tools and very little time. It’s by no means complicated, but it works. I hope you guys are enjoying these simple illos I’ve been posting.
