The Montreal Gazette and The Empire Strikes Back in 1986
While searching for something completely unrelated I stumbled across this ad from 1986 for Empire on television. Everyone remembers how very exciting it was the first time we saw Star Wars movies on TV, right? Unlike today, back when I was a kid movies didn’t automatically find their way onto video or television. Hell, I can still remember that my most-frequent exposure to the Star Wars movie when I was a kid was watching the home movie cut-down version. Something like twenty minutes of the movie edited in a really weird way.
