September 7, 1984. This St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper ad comes from about a month after I first encountered the Transformers toys and a month or two before I got my first Transformers toy, Windcharger. How I never made it my mission as a kid to get all of the Autobot mini-cars is a question I’ll never be able to answer . . . just like it’s a crime that I don’t own all of them today. What’s wrong with me?
