“Today’s comic book readers are a more sophisticated lot”
Okay, this is the sort of story that I find more annoying than I should. Hell, I probably shouldn’t be bothered at all by this 1990 newspaper article by Staci Malbouer, but it triggers my irrational response when people feel they need to talk about how “sophisticated” comic books have become. I know things were different in 1990, but even by then comics had long left the realm of “Crash! Boom! Pow!” that the story opens with.
