Tonka Play People “Back Country Explorer” Newspaper Ad from 1978

This 1978 Gibson’s Discount Center advertisement reminds us of the existence of Tonka’s Play People action figures of the late seventies. I’ve mentioned the Play People toyline before (posted here), but these are so overshadowed in my mind by the Fisher-Price Adventure People that I easily forget the Play People line ever existed. Ads like this instantly spark memories and tell my brain: Don’t forget, stupid!
