Google’s archives of old magazines and newspapers is great fun to search through, and this article from Kiplinger’s Personal Finance in 1995 is just one of a seemingly endless supply of old articles that are worth chasing down.

Kenner’s Star Wars action figures of 1995 get special treatment, as well as a mention that the toymakers of the time were creating action figures that were targeted at girls. Kenner’s Strawberry Shortcake toys of the eighties had already been there, but we can forgive the magazine for latching onto whatever “holiday appropriate” news it could find at the time, right?
