Topps’ 1950 “Bozo Ball Gum”

Hiding inside the July 1, 1950 issue of Billboard is a small advertisement for Topps’ Bozo Ball Gum. Bozo Ball Gum? That’s a new one to me. Fortunately, a quick Google search uncovered The Modern Hobby Guide To Topps Chewing Gum: 1938 To 1956 and an overview of the gum.

According to the book, this gum launched in 1910 and was a bulk-packed for distribution through gumball machines. Man, I could waste the rest of my life just exploring weird tangents and leads. I’d probably better not, though since there’s work to get done.
