“Toys With A Look To The Future”
The November, 1984 issue of Ebony Magazine has an entire article devoted to robot toys, and with everything from Transformers to Starriors included this is a great piece if you’re looking to remember the past. The article even shows a picture of kids playing with the Starriors Battle Station*, making this article discovery my favorite find of the week!
Other featured toys include Robo Force, Voltron, and toys from Bandai America that I don’t instantly recognize . . . but I’m sure some of you do. Awesome article, and a piece of wisdom jumped out at me that’s as true today as it was in 1984:
“All these toys, whether futuristic or more traditional, have the primary goal of providing youngsters with many hours of playing and learning. That, plus safety, is what anyone should look for when selecting a toy.”
