“Trading cards adapting the ‘letterbox’ look” in 1995
This 1995 Observer-Reporter newspaper article by Bruce Westbrook of the Houston Chronicle fixates on “letterbox” trading cards, those non-sport cards that try to mimic the widescreen nature of movies (find widescreen cards at Amazon.com*). I never really did adapt well to these wider cards — they feel wrong and unnatural to me, but only because I’m old — and even today I prefer my trading cards to come in the classic 2.5-inch by 3.5-inch format. Oh. And get off my lawn, kids!
