Transformers Armada Comic Book Advertisement from 2002
If this ad looks familiar then it may be that you’re remembering it from the first issue of Dreamwave’s Transformers: Armada back in 2014. Why, you ask, would I scan an old comic ad that I already scanned and shared once before? Well, the new scanner is better than the old, and that means that this version of the ad is of a slightly higher quality. And hey, we gotta document this stuff for future generations, right?
Anyway, this ad for Hasbro’s Transformers Armada toys (find at Amazon.com*) shows off Optimus Prime, the greatest Autobot ever. And, no surprise, a character Hasbro keeps returning to each time they create a new series of Transformers toys. How many Optimus Prime toys are there? I quite liked the Armada and Energon toys. The cartoons were a mixed bag, but from a toyline perspective it was a good “back-to-basics” update and refresh for the brand.
