Transformers: Combiner Wars Devastator Upgrade

Hasbro’s Transformers: Combiner Wars Devastator* has shipped, and this tformers.com post shares with us the Dr. Wu third-party upgrade: A completely new Mixmaster toy to replace the Hasbro version of the character.

Completely scrapping the Mixmaster from the Hasbro Transformers: Combiner Wars Devastator* says a lot about the opinion some have for the toy. It seems a bit of an extreme step to me, and looking at the pics I can’t say that the replacement figure is any more Generation One-accurate than Hasbro’s design; feels like a a rare “change for the sake of change” situation. Maybe my opinion will change when I see more, but for now I’m not quite sold on this replacement figure.
