“Transformers conquer Toyland this Christmasâ€
One year ago today I posted a 1985 newspaper article about Transformers and GoBots in which the author, Barry Paris, reported that Advertising Age described toy-based cartoons as “a license to steal — from kids.” I disagree, and I’ve made that very clear over and over again.
Anyway, I didn’t bring all of this up to go over the old stuff. Well, not exactly to go over it. I’m mentioning this Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article again because it allows me to demonstrate how much I’ve learned about the Google newspaper archives in the last twelve months. You see, when I first shared this story the screen capture was a much lower image and showed Google highlighting. Today I direct your attention to this updated screen capture that’s roughly twice as big and without any blue highlights. Much easier to read than last year’s post!
