Transformers Special Team Mini-Vehicles
October 2, 1986. The “Scramble City” combiners of the Transformers line that were first introduced in 1986 still stand out as some of the better combiners ever produced for the line. Those first generation designs, especially the Combaticons and the Stunticons, are as fun today as they ever were, even if some of the smaller vehicles/robots were squat, goofy, and not at all terrifying. This Iowa City Press newspaper ad for a store identified as “Jacks” shows us the smaller combiner members on sale, and leaves me again wishing I had the cash to go out and replace all of the little combiner robots that I owned as a kid. Maybe one of these days.
