Transformers Titan Warrior 5-Pack at the Hasbro Toy Shop

Available now at the Hasbro Toy Shop is the Transformers Titan Warriors, a set of five rotocast Transformers action figures . . . and the only SDCC exclusive I bought from Hasbro last weekend. These stand about six-inches tall, have limited articulation, do not transform, and are great collectibles that I’m very happy to have bought at the show. I have to warn you, though, the the box is ridiculously huge for five small toys.

What has me confused is the source of the molds. The copyright on the toys is 2013, but the packaging lists Takara which made me think these might be an older Takara toy design that Hasbro ran for SDCC. Searching, though, hasn’t revealed earlier versions of these toys so now I’m starting to think they may be completely new. Does anyone have info on these five figures?

  1. @FigureFan Zero – It was seeing these in the Hasbro display case at SDCC that made me stop and grab the set. I really do need to review them so everyone can see shots of the toys next to other pieces; I think Hasbro seriously underpriced this set.

  2. I was amazed at the asking price for these guys — and ALL SIX no less. I just assumed it would be in the $75-$100 range. I don’t recognise the molds themselves but upon hearing about them I knew I had to have them, so much so that due to a lack of funds I took Boba Fett off list of requested items which my mule was picking up for me.

I’m actually VERY surprised they’re still available at HTS too. Perhaps a lot of fans are undervaluing them as well. I recall certain people scoffing at them, but despite their simplistic design and lack of articulation and transformation I think they are must-haves.

  3. @PrfktTear – I think this will become one of those sleeper sets that demands a lot more in a few years. Especially if Hasbro takes a gamble and creates a second set of toys; a set of six Constructicons in this form? Yes, please.
