Transforming Collections – Editing Photos
As I work on the last pages of Transforming Collections (Kickstarter page) I thought I would take a moment to share before and after shots for a toy pic. If you want a step-by-step look at how I edit photos of toys then please see last year’s post, “Guide – Cleaning Photos for Toy Reviews”, but if all you care about is the end result then you’ll be happy just knowing that I do the best I can with each photo in the book (and reviews I post here at the site).

The above photo is the raw shot. Here we see FansProject’s Assaulter in jet mode sitting on two clear acrylic photo cubes. The toy is inside a light tent (search “light tents” at Amazon.com*) which seriously helps with diffusing the light and gives me a neutral background for the toy.
The below photo is the finished work after editing. It takes time, but I think it’s well worth the effort and the work I’m sinking into this will make the book much better.
