Tuesday Tunes – Over Yourself
This week we’re jumping back to the late eighties for two bands that rocked my formative years and still sound incredible. Time to crank the tunes!
First up is King’s X with “Over My Head” from the 1989 release, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska*. There were other great King’s X songs, but in my opinion this is their best track . . . from their best album.
And next we get some Faith No More. What makes this track special, though, is this is pre-Mike Patton, the lead singer most people think of when they think of Faith No More. Chuck Mosley with the vocalist on the band’s first two studio albums and of the two Introduce Yourself* is clearly the better album. Here’s the title track.
And because the album is so much damned fun here’s another track. “Anne’s Song” isn’t at all what I expected when I first heard the album. It’s better than I expected.
