Twister and the Tonight Show?
“. . . Carson decided to play Twister himself, and invited one of his guests to be his opponent. The guest–happily for the game–turned out to be Eva Gabor. The future of Twister was assured.”
It’s a well-known story in game circles. Milton Bradley hired a PR firm to handle promoting their new Twister* game, and a crazy turn with Johnny Carson and Eva Gabor turned the game into an overnight success. But I’m now left wondering what date this actually happened, because the Wikipedia page states the show aired on May 3, 1966 while this newspaper ad is from April 4, 1966 and mentions the Tonight Show. Something’s not aligning perfectly here. Time travel?
