Tyco vs Lego: “More or Less”
Yesterday’s Tyco vs Lego advertisement wasn’t the only time in the eighties that Tyco tried to make the discussion about value. Here’s a 1988 ad from an issue of Working Mother magazine where Tyco tried to step into Lego’s Duplo blocks. I’m kinda surprised that Lego had managed to fight off so many competitors over the last three decades. Great job in marketing, Lego!

Lego has quality that no one has beaten, out of all my Lego sets (1040 according to Brickset) and I have never been missing a piece, which can’t be said about MB. I had some of the Tyco Military sets, and while they were nice, they came apart a little too easily
