Under Construction
You’ve probably noticed some changes here at battlegrip.com today. After a few years of the same look I’ve reached the point that I really need a new design for the site, so I’ve spent some time off and on for about a week now reviewing possible templates and playing around. Well, what you see now is what I am leaning toward . . . but there are lots of little things still bugging me so I may pull my hair out in the process of tweaking the design.
Just looked at this on my phone. Its mobile friendly! We’re working on a new theme too. I already hate the colors.
Wow – it’s really…bright.
Real name? Some people don’t want there first hit on google to be “Gee, switch and go dinos are cool! I’ve been rolling around on the floor with them for days!” my handle corresponds to me on cdx, tfw, and YouTube. C’mon!
@Openchallenge – That’s a default setting I am trying to edit (once I find it) and an example of one of the little things bugging me about this theme. Once I find where that text is hidden I will b changed.
@Phil Ok, thanks. Take your time.
Looks good! I wouldn’t complain if you put up some 90s style “Under construction” animated .gifs, though.
@Mario – I considered one of those and then thought better of it. Now if I had an animated gif of Constructicons . . .
@Openchallenge – Code found and edited!
I’m digging the new look, on my phone and computer.
I like the new look, I definitely prefer it to the template you most recently had.
For some reason having the stories on the left side of the page felt weird. You had them in the middle before and for some reason it helped my brain scan for articles that interested me.
@clark – Thanks. Wow, you remember the original page design? I think that last version (with the orange) ran longer than the first design. Hopefully this design will last even longer (though I still have tweaks to make to the design).
@T-Rav – Good to hear. I don’t like how the sidebars get bumped to the bottom on the mobile version, but I will agree this is easier to view on my phone now.
