Underland Press Purchased . . . by the Company Buying Night Shade Books
I can tell I’ve been busier than usual lately. The company in the process of buying Night Shade Books (last mentioned here) has bought Underland Press, a small horror/sci-fi publishing company. The news is currently on the Underland Press site, and for more about the deal see posts at io9 and Geek Theory. I guess someone at Skyhorse really wants to get into genre fiction in a big way.
I only own a single book from Underland Press, Cyberpunk: Stories of Hardware, Software, Wetware, Evolution, and Revolution*, but if everything merges together at Skyhorse then I guess my future will include another purchase or two depending on exactly how Skyhorse operates the two companies. Separate imprints? Separate companies? One entity rolled together?
This should be fun to watch . . . and I hope great books come out of the deal.
