Universe Expanded Book: First Day and 31%

Thanks, guys! I launched my new book project yesterday (Universe Expanded at Kickstarter), and when I woke this morning we were already at 31%. I’m still working away on the book, snapping pics and scanning in older materials as I assemble pages and writing up my thoughts and opinions on these 1998 Kenner Star Wars Expanded Universe action figures and toys, and I’ll be sharing progress shots of the book between now and the end of the campaign.

Something I’ve noticed after running projects for books about toys is that it is only a tiny fraction of the collector community that has an interest in books. I’m not sure why more people aren’t as excited about books as I am, but I am thankful that there appear to be enough of us who love books that as a group we can get the occasional hardcover created.

The next 30 days should be very entertaining as we watch the book’s support grow. Will the project meet its goal? Unknown as this time. I am hoping for a “yes” answer.
