Update on Custom Glyos Figures

I’ve been working on building and painting bodies for TheGodBeast’s custom arms for Glyos System figures (Onell Design).

Well, I’m now officially finished with these three figures. Built out of Buildman and Order (Callgrim) figures, these three took several hours to design and paint, with coat after coat of gloss giving them a bright, shiny finish.

  1. Phil, these guys are awesome. I am really impressed with the paint job and the way you configured the men. Really nice work!

  2. @Arco Pheyden – Thanks, man. These took quite a bit of time, but to be honest most of the time was spent just finding the time to work on them. I think the real trick to making these look so good was following Matt’s advice on paints.

I’m definitely going to construct and paint some new figures very soon.

  3. Nice work! I can’t pick a favorite!

Consequently, what WAS MAtt’s advice on paints? I’d really like to know myself, lol.

  4. @Ninjanaut – Matt recommended cleaning every piece with rubbing alcohol and using Tamiya paints. Those Tamiya acrylics work perfectly!

  5. Oh, awesome, thanks! I do clean my figures first, but I use Testors enamels and my figures always end up very sticky. I’ll have to try that out!

Oh, and I’m not sure the etiquette on blog posts vs forum threads, but I apologize if commenting on an older article is frowned upon. I hadn’t noticed the date on the article! Sorry!

  6. @Ninjanaut – Comment on anything you want to. Some blogs close off comments after a week or two but I leave comments open so that people can post whenever they want to.
