USA Today Reveals Star Wars “Black” Boba Fett SDCC Exclusive
Awesome packaging! Hasbro’s releasing a 6-inch scale Boba Fett with Han in Carbonite at SDCC this summer, and USA Today has the story. Damn, there are starting to really be some exclusives at SDCC that I’m willing to line up for . . . where am I going to find time around meetings to stand in line to buy toys?
Hasbro’s doing a really good job of focusing on getting the word out to as many people as possible by giving USA Today the exclusives on these Star Wars “Black” reveals. Hopefully that will help generate sales; it would be nice to see this line perform as well as the Gentle Giant Jumbo Vintage series . . . have you looked at how many action figures Gentle Giant has released in the upsized form?

Everything about that figure looks great. I’m really pumped for the Black Series now.
That sucks. I’m ready to buy these toys at Target right now, but I’m really sick of exclusives like this. Do they honestly think a Boba Fett toy won’t sell at wide retail?
So, do you still think this line will fail?
(i.e.-5 reasons why SW Black will fail)
@T-Rav – Sandtrooper and Fett are the must-grabs for me. And maybe that R2.
@pete*rock – I still suspect the line will fail. I haven’t seen any signs of Hasbro finding a way to get the toys out there without either flooding the market or — and especially with this exclusive — frustrating some fans.
@John Maddening – I think it’s just the Han and one weapon from this set that will be exclusive. My understanding is that Fett will be in stores.
But I totally get where you’re coming from. Exclusives can be annoying at times.
