Toy Biz X-Men Toy Commercial from 1991
Yesterday, I posted a review of the Amazing Heroes Apocalypse figure in which I asked about the definitive Apocalypse action figure. Well, I’m willing to bet that the one shown in this commercial from 1991 isn’t who I’m searching for.
And take a look at the horrible helmet on Magneto and Wolverine’s awesome(ly bad) head.
Ahhh, memories.
Even though we were happy to have X-Men figures, my friends and I knew that the Wolverine was garbage at the time. The quantum leap between that Wolvie and this one:

He was usually too tall, although I think they finally got it right by one of the final series.
That Wolverine was/is gross! Pick up the ToyBiz one mentioned by JOHN K instead as he’s the appropriate size!
Regarding Apocalypse, I know ToyBiz tried a few times at him. The first is the ugly skinny one in this commercial; the next was recently reviewed here (and showed up in multiple packs including the Street Fighter VS X-Men pack with Dhalism); followed by Age of Apocalypse figure; Super Shooters wave (which I find quite hidious too); Missile Flyers and finally the Onslaught wave.
Marvel Legends did a “tiny” Apocalypse which most people find stumpy looking. The Build-A-Figure may be expensive but I’m a huge Marvel Legends fan so it was more of a bonus that came with figures I probably would’ve bought anyways.
