Visiting That’s Entertainment in Worcester, MA
I’ve a new Flickr album, this time showing the inside of That’s Entertainment in Worcester, MA (website). The store’s a mix of new and old, with everything from music to games to toys to comics to trading cards to . . . well, I think you get the idea that there’s a lot of stuff here.
One of the best things about travel is the chance to explore new shops. I’ve found that every part of the world I visit has a flavor all its own, and in the American northeast the shops are far more packed and exciting than the majority of what I see in Texas. I’m sure it has to do with population density — there are far more people per square mile in the northeast than in Texas — but I can’t help but feeling a little jealous every time I walk into one of these shops.
Gina and I have grabbed so many cool things on this trip that we’re packing a box to mail home. I have to wait until next week to enjoy the Masters of the Universe puzzles that we found? Aw.

Great place! I don’t get out there nearly enough though. It’s about an hour and a half which puts it just out of my “swing out there on a whim” sphere.
@PrfktTear – Finding all those spots made me sad for Austin’s options.
Awww… It’s nice to see these same places from an outsider’s perspective. You can gain a whole new level of appreciation. Sometimes its easy to take for granted what you have right in your own backyard!
Maybe it’s a “New England” thing, but anything that’s longer than a 45 minute drive away is “wicked faaah”. There are so many great places here in Massachusetts/Rhode Island that are a good 60-90 minute drive, which all things considered really isn’t far at all!
@PrfktTear – Different opinions on distance is the first thing I noticed years ago when visiting the northeast. Here in Texas (and even the midwest) an hour drive is nothing.
Hell, my daily drive to the office is between 20 and 45 minutes each way. On Sunday I took the four hour drive to Dallas for a game convention and then drove back Monday morning.
And yeah, your shopping selection is WAY better than what we have here in Austin.
