Visiting the Brian Sutton-Smith Library Today
Today’s plan is to make the drive to Rochester so that I’m at the Brian Sutton-Smith Library when they open at 10 am. The library includes an extensive archive of magazines, games, and assorted texts on the toy and game industry, and I’m scheduled to spend all day there researching Star Wars toys and action figures. With luck I’ll also stumble across some unexpected fun as I look through their archive of Playthings magazine, but the focus is on Star Wars, especially the 1995 through 1998 Hasbro/Kenner era.
You can learn more about the Archives of Play here, and you can be sure that I’m ready to make lots and lots of copies of any articles or advertisements that stand out as educational and/or enjoyable.
