“Welcome to the nightmare.” Kenner’s Legends of the Dark Knight in 1998
From the June, 1998 issue of Wizard Magazine (Amazon.com search*) comes this full-page ad for Kenner’s Legends of the Dark Knight action figure series of the time. Showing off Penguin, Joker, and Man-Bat, this ad really makes me want to get back to popping open Legends of Batman and Legends of the Dark Knight action figures. Maybe I’ll do that over the weekend . . .
For a peek at which Kenner Batman Legends toys (Amazon.com search*) I’ve already posted at the site check out these reviews:
- Legends of the Dark Knight Assault Gauntlet Batman
- Kenner Legends of the Dark Knight Dive Claw Robin
- Kenner Legends of Batman, Dark Rider Batman
- Legends of the Dark Knight: Dark Knight Detective
- Legends of the Dark Knight: Batman: The Dark Knight Detective

Get.
That.
Man-Bat!
He still holds up quite well! I’m not typically a review guy, but took a look at him some time back here. Well worth grabbing!
@googum – Man-Bat search is on!
Man-Bat does look great – Kenner wasn’t afraid to do sorts of crazy things in the 1990s.
As an aside, I really enjoy these “blast from the past” toy ad posts – keep them coming!
I loved that Man Bat figure too. Good sculpt and just enough articulation.
I remember thinking all these looked incredibly ridiculous back in the day, so I skipped them all. Wouldn’t mind owning a Clayface today though.
