“Win a Mechanical Man” in 1969
The Zeroids toys from Ideal (see Wikipedia) are one of those obscure lines that we never hear much about. Despite the work of Toyfinity and their Ideal licenses, the series remains mostly forgotten, a bunch of robot toys that children of the sixties may remember while those too young to be there at the time knows them only through books and blog posts.
If you were a kid in 1969, then you may have seen something like this newspaper contest in which kids were offered a chance to win one of five Zeroids toys. I’m not finding any info on winners or details on the contest, but the newspaper find is still a fun one to read through.
