Wizards of the Coast Announces Dungeons & Dragons Release Dates
The new edition of the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game is being published this year, and we now have final release dates and covers for the four primary titles in the new product line.
- Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set* – The first release in the series, and designed to introduce new players to Dungeons & Dragons, this is scheduled for release on July 15.
- Player’s Handbook* – August 19, $50, over 300 pages of rules. Should be very interesting to see how Wizards approaches the new core book; this is arguably the most important title in the line and the book that could make or break the new edition of the game.
- Monster Manual* – September 30. Books packed with monsters are always fun. Hopefully this one brings the fun.
- Dungeon Master’s Guide* – And the final of the core three, this is the book for those running the games. Session and adventure advice should be the focus of the book, but we have to wait until November 18 to find out what’s inside.
Good luck to Wizards of the Coast and the entire Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game team. The new covers look gorgeous and everything I’ve heard about the new edition sounds neat, so hopefully this will perform well and we’ll see the new edition last longer than four or five years.
