Yars’ Revenge + Glyos

So one of the things that came out of the recent discussion about bug-related toys with Matt Doughty (mentioned here) was random talk about the old Yars’ Revenge game. Well, as shouldn’t shock any of us there are Glyos builds inspired by the game . . . check them out right here.

But it’s not enough for us to just look at neat toy creations. No, we should also make sure to spend some time reading the official Yars’ Revenge comic over at Atari Age. Originally packed with the game, this short comic gives us a great look at the insects. Fun stuff.

But why stop there when Yars’ Revenge can be played online. Yep, just a bit of Flash and your 85% keyboards combined to allow you to waste as much time as you want playing this ancient video game. How ancient? According to Wikipedia the game turns 30 next year.

So thank you, Internet, for bringing us so much of our past to the present so that we can waste hours of time playing the same game we played too much of back in the early eighties.
