Zartan Zaturday – The Worst Decision Made in G.I. Joe Resolute

Last year’s G.I. Joe: Resolute* is awesome, but for some reason the decision was made to kill off characters. Hell, Major Bludd doesn’t even do anything on screen except appear as a corpse. And Zartan, who has never looked or sounded cooler than he did in G.I. Joe: Resolute, is shot in the back by Duke before we can see him do anything especially awesome.

Where in the hell were the Dreadnoks? Those lazy bastards should have been there to keep Duke from offing Zartan. Jerks.

I would love to see a new G.I. Joe animated series using the Resolute character designs and approach to storytelling, but I would think Hasbro knows enough to create something new and not just build on Resolute. Why? Because a new series without Major Bludd, Storm Shadow, and Zartan would just be dumb.

  1. I didn’t really care for Resolute, but we did get to see Zartan killing the Hard Master (carrying over the storyline from the comics…)

  2. Agreed… Resolute is my favorite Joe cartoon to date… I just would like to have seen Zartan do more stuff. That said… maybe the sneaky SOB could have survived. I can dream, can’t I?
